humanizing education

Humanizing Education is an ongoing and unfolding body of work focused on supporting educators* to thrive. Our belief is that when the social and emotional health of adults who work in schools is centered, this fosters positive work relationships and school and district cultures where students' social, emotional, and academic capacities can flourish.
Our core program is a yearlong summer-to-summer cohort experience for educators. It begins with a restorative midsummer “retreat”, followed by regular support sessions (virtual or in-person) over the course of the school year, and an end-of-the-year gathering.
*When we use the term “educator,” we mean ALL adults who have a professional role in the education system: classroom educators, school counselors, administrators, district leaders, and other school and district staff. Every member of the school community is a part of the system of relationships that is crucial in supporting young people as they grow and develop.
